Blending
Cyrus River Terminal
The Cyrus River Coal Terminal (Cyrus) is located on the Big Sandy River in Kenova, West Virginia, within the delivery zone for the NYMEX coal futures contracts.
Cyrus is a blending terminal where 5 million tons per year of coal sourced from small producers can be aggregated, stored and/or blended to higher specifications, then loaded on barges and trucks. The facility has approximately 600,000 tons of surface storage, has a fleeting capacity of 13 barges, can load one barge per hour, and can load 50 (and unload 340) trucks per day.
LDH Energy acquired the Cyrus facility in 2008.
